Is the Ciaz a replacement for the Kizashi ??
– Shaneel Karia
Auto Expo 2014 has been a great success with over 5lakh people visiting the auto fair, it seems to gained fame and publicity. Maruti Suzuki managed to gain attraction with their concept car, Ciaz. With the completion of the Rohtak Factory by 2016 which is in Haryana, it will be the most well equipped factory in all of Asia.
Ciaz has the looks of Kizashi, which failed to gain a good response in India as well as worldwide. In terms of dimension this car measures similar to the Mercedes Benz E class. It does have an curves which makes it look aerodynamically designed.
The rear end lifted spoiler, rims and dual exhaust shows traits of its predecessor, the Kizashi. LED lamps along with the brake lights give this vehicle a sporty look.
The Ciaz will be equipped with an 1.4 liter petrol engine and will also have an 1.3 liter diesel variant available. This may seem to be less powered but let us see how Maruti Suzuki ends up pulling this one off.
With Honda grabbing hold on to the majority of the market with the new Honda City, Maruti will have to buck up and launch a better vehicle so as to compete with it. With a mileage of 26 kmpl for diesel variant and 22 for petrol this may shake the market.
There is a speculation that the Ciaz concept may end up being called SX5 or even new SX4. The price tag of this vehicle may ponder around 15lakhs Indian Rupees.
