Lenovo has done an outstanding job in delivering high quality laptops and providing one of the best after sales service. Etching it’s way up, Lenovo once again seems to catch all the attention with the release of the Lenovo Flex 2 14 Series.
I purchased the Lenovo Flex 2 14 59429729 Laptop which is one of the high end models in the Flex 2 14 Series. The very first day after getting it home, I realized the one I purchased has a dead pixel near the center of the screen. That very moment I called the retailer and made sure that I got it replaced. Hope this doesn’t let you down, there are always few in a million pieces with manufacturing defects and I unfortunately got my hands on it.

The Flex 2 has been designed to dazzle, you have a touchscreen display which rotates 300 degrees giving you two modes to work with it, the normal laptop mode and the other termed as Stand Mode. The design is quiet sturdy, on the left side you have the cooling vents, charging port,LAN port, HDMI port, 3.5mm jack and a USB port. On the left you have one memory card reader slot, two USB ports and the power button with an indicator.
On either side of the camera, dual digital array microphones have been provided and dolby advance audio speakers have been provided to enhance the audio system. The laptop has been designed smartly including a light weight chassis reducing the overall weight of this system to a mere 1.9kgs.
The design is a bit awkward and may take time getting used to, the power button on the right side, no numeric keyboard and other minor stuff. The plus point is that the keyboard is not the noisy one, it’s much more well built and sturdy and does not make those irritating noises while typing. Another thumbs up goes to it’s back lit keyboard with two intensity levels, to turn that on all you have t do is press the Fn + Space Bar button simultaneously.
The Flex 2 14 runs on the i5 4210U processor along with 4 GB of RAM, to smooth the graphics end a 2GB Nvidia GT 820 Graphic card has been slotted in. You have 500 Gigs of internal storage plus 8GB of SSD and Windows 8.1 running in the background. The specs of the battery have not been provided but Lenovo claims that it should last about 6 hours on standard usage. The fans are pretty silent and after playing Asphalt 8 and Minion Rush for approximately an hour slight signs on warmth on the lower half.
The 14 inch display is full HD one and is also a touchscreen. The touch is very quick and responsive, Windows 8.1 has been specifically integrated for touchscreen smartphones as well as laptops. I have played couple of touchscreen based games like the Minion Rush, you’ll enjoy playing these games on the stand mode rather than the laptop mode. Viewing angles are amazing and unlike standard laptops, there is no saturation of colors at certain angles, you’ll find that the images are pretty bright and crisp.
With 2GB of Graphic Card I find this a pretty decent laptop. It has a price tag of 53,999 but you can catch hold of one of theses at 48,000 Indian Rupees. High end gaming may lag but otherwise if you looking for a decent everyday use laptop the Lenovo Flex 2 59429729 will suffice your daily needs.
