HTC previous year had showcased the HTC One, today’s best smartphone in the market, last year at the very same platform the MWC 2013. This year the smartphone making company has launched the HTC Desire 816, a temporary eye catching smartphone that may retain customers till the time it launches the successor to the HTC One.

Design

Just like the HTC One, this device manage to pack in two speakers on the front side, which as but obvious of the HTC Boomsound. The device looks pretty plain and simple overall with no complications whatsoever. And overall you will have more hints of the HTC One incorporated into this device.

Display

5.5 inch display which is a 720p one, not one the best available in the market, but yet manages to do a fantastic job. The pixel density too is in the mediocre range with 267 ppi. This device weighs only 165gms and is just 7.99mm thick.

Hardware

Qualcomm snapdragon 400 processor which clocks a speed of 1.6GHz. As expected it is bound to be a quad core one and will be introduced with 1.5GB of RAM.Decent 2,600mAh battery along with NFC, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi.

The internal storage may be a let down for few, as you have only 8 gigs of storage, but do not worry it is provided with a microSD slot which can hold a memory card that can store up to 64GB of data.

Camera

13MP sensor on the back side which is accompanied with a LED flash and on the front side a 5MP vivid sensor mainly boasting for amazing selfies, trend followed by the newer generation, which are capable of video recording 1080p videos.

Conclusion

The HTC Desire 816 is expected to be released worldwide by April, and is supposed to fall in the mid-range category. Available in 5 different colors variants, HTC should be able to allocate a  price tag of around 24,000 Indian Rupees which seems perfectly apt for this smartphone to last.
