After Xiaomi, Micromax has been doing it’s homework and this time will try and compete with the Xiaomi Redmi Note with it’s latest troop in it’s arsenal the Micromax Yu Yureka.

Micromax Yureka

What’s Maniac?

  • 64 Bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor
  • 2 GB of DDR3 RAM
  • CyogenMOD based Android Software

What’s Not?

  • Not a full HD display

Micromax has just fitted in high end specs in a curvy rectangular box. But don’t take me wrong, the hardware that has been introduced is definitely worth the buy. The front side has 5.5 inch display with 3 capacitive buttons at the bottom. The back side houses the 13MP Camera along with a bar speaker positioned at the near bottom. The alphabets “Yu” with a blue tinge impregnated at the center.

The Yu Yureka has a sizable 5.5 inch HD IPS display, by HD we mean a resolution of 1280 by 720 with a pixel density of 267 ppi. Corning Gorilla Glass layers in along with a layer of oleophobic coating which helps in repelling fingerprints on the display. The viewing angle slithers down to 80 degrees, compared to 86-89 degrees in majority smartphones. Well I would take that as a plus point, it will help in on hiding your personal chats with your someone special from the hawkers eyeing around your phone.

With High end quality based processors, the Micromax Yu Yureka has a 1.5GHz 64 bit Octa core CPU and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor coupled with the Adreno 405 GPU which clocks at 505MHz. 2 GB of DDR3 based RAM seems decent enough for smooth multi-tasking. What’s more ?? you have a cyogenmod OS11 operating system which is based on the Android which is similar to the MIUI in the Xiaomi Smartphones.

Dual Sim capability with one 3G and the other 4G. A 2500 mAh battery optimized to match the hardware hence amplifying battery performance. 16 GB of Internal Memory out of which only 12.5 GB is accessible to the user, to add up memory a memory card slot has been provided which is capable of up to 32 Gigs of storage.

13MP rear facing Camera with a 5P Largan Blue Lens Architecture along with Sony IMX135 CMOS sensor should do wonders when it comes to the photography edge of the Yu. You also get a single LED flash coupled in at the rear. The front sensor is a 5MP one, which more than sufficient for those selfies.

All in all, the Micromax Yu Yureka seems to be a deal breaker in every way. The viable competitors to this smartphone is the Xiaomi Redmi Note. With a weight of 175 gms the device seems to be on the heavier side. The Yu overall is definitely worth the buy, with a price tag of Rs. 8,999/- it is equivalent to the Xiaomi Redmi Note. Another upcoming device that may be worth it is the Lenovo Lemon K3.
